2. Don't be surprised by trouble! The "London Youth Event" scam* that caught Kathy is typical of how our enemy takes something good ,in this case, her availability to speak to groups for God's glory, and uses it against us. Heaven will be perfect, but here on earth we need to learn how to quickly run our wounded hearts to Jesus every single time we get hurt!

3. Do trust God and look for the good in everything! In her note to me, Kathy wrote, "Yes, God protected me. Unfortunately I did have to pay an outrageous amount to get an expedited passport (before I checked him out---my fault); however, I'm wondering if God has something else planned for me--and I will need my passport. I let it expire about 10 years ago---silly me. We have an amazing God."

I loved how she models, in her words and actions, a desire to turn whatever was meant to harm her into something that God can use for good.

4. Do allow God to use your pain to help others. In response to my request to quote her, Kathy wrote: "You are free to quote me anytime. No matter what happens in our everyday life, something GOOD has happened, too. Happiness is a CHOICE."

Kathy is a chosen vessel of God because she is humble; she shares what she has learned through her speaking and writing, and says of her blog posts, "I get lots of comments from people all over the world telling me they felt encouraged by my words, but again I pray everyday (many times) that the Lord will direct my fingers. I know in my heart there is always one person the Lord has in mind to read what I have written."
