Personal Note from Marnie

One of the most encouraging things anyone has ever said to me was years ago: A gal had heard (through the grapevine) about my husband's broken leg, my daughter's broken wrist, and about the other random, unrelated traumas our family had experienced within a three-day time-span.

She came up to me after church that Sunday and said, "I've heard about all the things that are happening in your family right now. You MUST be doing something RIGHT!"

Ladies, just recently, my husband and daughter escaped Mambai, India, just hours before the masacre there; the water pipes at our house broke (and are now repaired), our restaurant was vandalized (and is now back up and running), and, as I typed this note, our furnace began to smell like smoke (Dave just shut it off and is checking on why the exterior is extremely hot!).

I cannot understand why bad things happen, nor can I stop them from happening. But this one thing I know: God is FAR above any of the problems that we, His children who are walking by faith, forging forward for the Kingdom, face on any given day! The battle has already been won and we are just prisoners of war, dwelling in enemy territory, til He comes to take us home!

It is my great honor to partner with you in ministry. Remember to "look up more than you look around!"
